Do you remember the 80s Bangin’ Music? Mullets? Oversized shoulders, earrings, hairdos, and multiple bracelets? The television show Headbanger’s Ball? Well, the Department of Fun added a creative theme twist…to its third lighted parade and event: “Glow Banger’s Ball.”
Join us Saturday, September 7, 2024, in downtown Morrison, IL. Streets will be shut at approximately 6:00 p.m. for public walking access to businesses and booths. At 7:00 the 80s style band “Big Hair Mafia” will perform. As the night darkens about 8:00, the Glow Parade will roll along Main Street.
The public is encouraged to dress in the 1980s time period, wear an appropriate wig, or expand the volume of your long hair. Join the communal, community fun.
In order to enter a vehicle/float it must be “bedazzled with lights.” This can be from glow sticks; neon; battery operated or plug-in light strings. See the photos from prior Glow Parades.
Facebook a message to Department of Fun; include your name and type of vehicle. It can be a full-size car or riding lawn mower; tractor; unicycle, bicycle, or tricycle; scooter or skid loader; ATV or covered wagon.
The suggested donation is $5; kids enter at no charge.
Prizes will be awarded for the best mullet and creativity.
