Douglas D. Hamm, 74, of Savanna, IL, died Friday, March 6, 2020, at his home.
Doug was born June 28, 1945, in Union Grove, Whiteside County, IL, to William and Edith (McDonald) Hamm. Doug married Genevieve L. Howell-Inman on October 7, 1967, in Fulton, IL. She passed away on September 17, 1996. He worked for the railroad in Savanna. Doug enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. He enjoyed mowing his lawn on his riding lawn mower.
Survivors include daughters, Peggy Dersham of Thomson, IL, and Dianna (Daniel) Griebel of Camanche, IA; stepsons, John Frank Inman of Tennessee and Charles (Mashelle) Inman of Morrison, IL; stepdaughter, Francis (Jimmie) Pruitt of Tennessee; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Del) Dellinger of Missouri, Clara Bauer of Wacker, IL, Shirley Rieland of Clinton, IA, and Paulette Hamilton of Charlotte, IA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; infant twin daughters, Jacqueline and Josephine Hamm; one son in infancy, Robert Lee Hamm; sister, Cora McGinnis; brothers, William “Boots” Hamm, Francis “Pete” Hamm, Melvin Hamm, and Carl Hamm.
A private family graveside will be held at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton IL.
A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial has been established by the family.
