Dorrine J. Deter, 88, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Dorrine was born August 31, 1930, in Morrison, to Alvin and Jannette M. (Zuidema) Bos. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. Dorrine married Clayton L. Deter on June 7, 1950, in Sterling, IL. She retired from the Morrison High School cafeteria. Dorrine was a member of the Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling and various church organizations and activities. She enjoyed canning, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s school activities.
Survivors include her husband, Clayton; three sons, Rod (Tammy) Deter, Russ (Amy) Deter, and Rick (Glenda) Deter all of Morrison; 11 grandchildren, Julia Deter, Tricia Deter, Daniel (Sarah) Deter; Kendall (Emily) Deter, Robert (Diane) Deter, Adam Deter, Emily (Cesar Contreras) Lambdin, Hannah Lambdin; Marie (Bryce) Brewer, Brock Deter, and Aaron Deter; three great-grandchildren, Lily, Bryson, and Jonathan Deter; one sister, Marilyn Habben of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Deter; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Deter; one brother, William Bos.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling, IL.
Co-officiating will be Pastor Craig Sipes of Brethren in Christ Church in Morrison and Pastor Dan Rusmisel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery in Sterling, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
