Dorothy M. Bush, 100, of Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation.
Dorothy was born May 31, 1919, in Fulton, IL, to Jacob M. and Bessie (Houzenga) Huizenga. She was educated in the Round Grove and Ustick Schools in rural Whiteside County, IL. Dorothy married James J. Bush on September 17, 1938, in Morrison. He died December 5, 1996. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Lydian Society and served as a Sunday School and Catechism teacher. She treasured her faith and her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly (H. J. “Jerry”) Borger of Frederick, CO; son, Arthur (Sarah) Bush of Dubuque, IA; six grandchildren, Cali Bush, Sacha Bush, Nathan (Sarah) Bush, Todd (Marianne) Borger, Tami (Matthew) Pettit, and Emily (Marcus Albers) Bush; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Dr. David J. (Nancy) Bush; grandson, Timothy James Borger; sisters, Tena VanDyke and Anna Ellis; brothers, John and Marvin Huizenga.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Ken Renkes officiating.
A graveside committal service will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to Ebenezer Reformed Church has been established.
