dorothy wilsonDorothy C. Wilson, 97, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Monday June 8, 2015, at Resthave Home.

Dorothy was born January 31, 1918, in Morrison, to Carl F. and Reka (Camps) Meiners. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. She was first married to Lawrence J. Johnson. Later, on June 15, 1963, she married Irvin J. “Sam” Wilson in Hillsboro, IL. He died on November 25, 1999. Dorothy was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 34 years and was a member of the GEM Club. She greatly delighted in spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also took pleasure in spending time at her daughter’s home in rural Mount Carroll, IL, near “Lake Wilson,” which was named after her late husband. Dorothy enjoyed trips to Florida, the last one being in 2009.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Lynn) Border of Morrison and Jan (Doug) Banes of Mount Carroll; three grandchildren, Shelli Banes, Todd (Angie) Banes, and Margo Melson; one step-granddaughter, Bobbi Flaherty; five great-grandchildren, Elli Clark, Samantha Melson, Mackenzie Melson, D. J. Banes, Dylan Banes; one step-great-granddaughter, Matti Flaherty; one great-great-grandson, Cooper Melson; one sister, Marian VanDerLeest of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; one son, Richard Johnson; one sister, Alice McGinn; three brothers, Glen, Ray, and Ted Meiners.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING:  Rev. Rich Davis, Pastor, Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION:  9:00 a.m., until time of funeral service Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL

A memorial to Mercy Hospice has been established.
