Dorothy Ann Kaufman, 97, of Moline, IL, formerly of Lyndon, and Lanark, IL, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline.
Dorothy was born August 3, 1927, in Sterling, IL, the eldest daughter of William and Clara (Janssen) Waterstreet. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1945. She married Earl Kaufman on September 27, 1953, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church-LC-MS in Morrison. IL. They were married 54 years until Earl died in March 2008. Dorothy and Earl farmed in rural Lanark, where they raised their three daughters. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Dorothy’s family enjoyed her wonderful cooking, baking, and canning. She was very active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark, her daughters’ schools, and Home Extension. After moving to Lyndon in 1998, Dorothy became an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Kaufman of Bettendorf, IA ,and Lisa (Scott) Mizeur of Moline; two grandsons, Matt Mizeur of Lyndon and Nic (Brooke) Mizeur of Lincoln, NE; great-grandson, Josiah; sister, Elaine Hapke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; middle daughter, Sara Kaufman.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, with Rev. Mark Peters, Interim Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison, officiating.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
The Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
