Dorothy A. Jirasek, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL.
Dorothy was born February 27, 1938, in Genoa City, WI, to Herman and Ruth (Berger) Koehn. She was a 1956 graduate of Genoa City High School in Genoa City, WI. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL. Dorothy married Donald G. Jirasek on January 10, 1959, in Pell Lake, WI. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, and has served on the church Council. She was a blood drive coordinator for the Aurora Area Blood Bank. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, camping, and fishing, and was a passionate cat lover.
Survivors include her husband, Don; three daughters, Cindy (Dave) Gehrke of LaFarge, WI; Becky (Tim) Kelly of Carmel, IN; Barb (Mark) Lippoldt of Hinckley, IL; one son, Chris (Debbie) Jirasek of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren, Jacob (Becky) Gehrke, Heather (Steve) McCauley, Scott (Kristina) Kelly, Casey Kelly, Michael Kelly, Elizabeth Lippoldt, Brianna Lippoldt, Amber (Ricky Dodd) Jones, Matt (Megan Curran) Rowland; six great-grandchildren, Ryther and Bennett Gehrke; Maverick, Malachi, and Myles McCauley; Caleb Rowland; one brother, Ken (Carol) Koehn of Twin Lakes, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Scott Jirasek; one sister, Margie Wagner.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
