Dorothy A. Huizenga, 79, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Pleasant View Home, Morrison.
Dorothy was born January 25, 1938, in Clyde Township, IL, to Leroy and Doris I. (Detra) Fletchic. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1956 graduate of Morrison High School. She attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA. Dorothy married Ronald G. Huizenga on December 20, 1957, in Morrison. He died March 24, 2017. Dorothy was first employed by the former Clinton Corn Processing Company in Clinton, IA, worked as an Avon representative, and worked part-time for H & R Block. Most recently, she was employed by Sullivan’s Foods in Morrison. Dorothy was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, a PTL Singer, and a member of the church’s choir. She enjoyed counted cross stitching and participated in Morrison Music Theatre Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Cornwell of Dixon, IL; two sons, David (Sarah) Huizenga of Fulton, IL, and Andy (Lori) Huizenga of Suffolk, VA; eight grandchildren, Sam and Rachael Cornwell, Dawson, Sadie, and Gavin Huizenga, Evan Hill, Will and Liam Huizenga; one sister, Mary (Jon) Matthews of Lanark, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Leonard Hartman; her husband, Ron; one sister, Sharon Rust.

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
