On Friday, June 19, 2020, an anonymous benefactor began to promote The Loft on Main and local businesses. This person provided The Loft on Main, 112 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, with $10 gift certificates, to be used at select businesses. Certificates are given to anyone who purchases more than $50 of artwork.
Morrison businesses included Original Taco; Family Chef Restaurant; China House; Fat Boy’s; Hero’s Bar & Grill; Happy Joe’s Pizza; Isle of Rhodes, Embraced; Original Taco; Family Chef Restaurant; China House.
Fat Boy’s, 201 E. Main Street, will benefit from a second round of certificates earned from Monday, September 7, through Sunday, September 13.
“The selection of businesses is at the discretion of our donor,” stated Sharon Boyles. “The goal is to encourage residents to shop locally and support our businesses. Each week, a different Morrison business will be selected.” Thank you for your patronage! Come support our community.
The Loft on Main continues to be closed during posted business hours but is open by appointment. Phillip Maxfield used scrimshaw techniques to finely etch this Flintlock set of animal horns. Each of the pair shows the British Royal Crest and a distinct sailing vessel. Note the compass rose on the 9″ horn; the other is 7″ in length.
