Donald E. Landherr, 80, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017. at his home.
Don was born July 1, 1937, in Morrison to Harold John and Vera Edna (Rick) Landherr. He was educated in the Delhi and Macrath grade schools in rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving on the USS Myles C. Fox DD829. He married Shirley Ann Brenner-Sanders on January 28, 2000, in Morrison. Don was employed by the former RB & W-Reliant Manufacturing in Rock Falls, IL, for 34 years, retiring in 1999. Don was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and the Fulton Country Club. He enjoyed many hobbies: playing fast pitch softball as a pitcher for Clinton, IA, Morrison, Milledgeville, and Fulton, IL, teams; drag racing; hunting; fishing; bowling; golfing. He also enjoyed his flowers. Don will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; one daughter, Pam (Randy) Harmon of Roselle, IL; one son, Chris (Janie) Landherr of Houston, TX, three step-daughters, Jenny, Carrie ,and Shanda; two step-sons, Kyle and Brandon; two grandchildren, Nathan and Jakob Harmon; ten step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren, including Brogann and Marlee; one sister, Mrs. Glenda Ingram of Morrison; two brothers, Jim (Mary Jane) Landherr of Waukesha, WI, and Glenn (Donna) Landherr of Morrison.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rudy and Lester Landherr.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison, IL
OFFICIATING: Rev. Ryan Sutton, Pastor of Morrison United Methodist Church
VISITATION: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Morrison United Methodist Church have been established.
