District Budget and Personnel Approved for 2021-22

Morrison Community Unit School District #6 Board of Education convened on Monday, June 21, 2021, without an elected President, following the resignation of Gus Linke, Jr.  Superintendent Scott Vance administered the Presidential duties for the four attending Board members.

Comments from Gabrielle Cultra, Future Farmers of America advisor, updated the Board on the highlights of the past FFA year and noted a 27% increase in members over the previous year.

High school Principal Cory Bielema presented the Board with a recent donation of MHS yearbooks published over 100 years ago.

The 2021-2022 budget was finalized, showing a $676,000 improvement over the original presentation, but showing a projected deficit of- $233,300.  The amended budget was unanimously approved.  Approval of the amended Student Handbook was also a unanimous vote.

As a special recognition for the 42 years of service completed by Betty McDonnell, a lifetime pass to all future Morrison home Football games was awarded.

Acceptance of a lease of City property will allow the construction of additional parking spaces, at Northside School, to go forward on High Street.

Updates of school properties made the following items available for release:  used library tables, used library books, used lunch tables, and used playground equipment.

4) Southside Elementary Teacher – Heather Goeke
5) Southside Elementary Teacher – Megan Modglin

3) Justin Stevenson – High School

1) MHS Principal – Cory Bielema
2) MJHS Principal – Joe Robbins
3) Northside Principal – Andy Harridge

5) Director of Technology – Duane Shaffer
6) Fiscal Director – Kyla Hanson
7) Food Service Director – Lynelle Criss
8) Facility Director – John Huesinkveld
9) System Administrator – Steve Bechtel

Retirement effective at the end of 2022-2023 school year:  Connie Royer.
