In June 2026 Morrison Community Unit School District #6 officially launched a comprehensive facility improvement project, in partnership with Veregy, a leading energy solutions provider.  Infrastructure upgrades were scheduled to begin in June and reach completion in August, modernizing critical building systems across campuses.  Crucially for families and staff, all construction would take place over the summer break, resulting in zero disruptions to students and staff.

The high-level project goals focus on
•     shoring up aging infrastructure
•    ensuring long-term operational reliability
•    improving the physical environment of the schools
•    maintaining fiscal responsibility for local taxpayers.

The comprehensive scope of work spans the District.  When school is back in session students, staff, and parents will see and feel a big difference in the functionality of the Morrison campuses.

“Maintaining a safe, comfortable, and modern environment for our students is a top priority…So is being an excellent steward of our community’s tax dollars,” said Superintendent Dr. Matthew DeBaene.  “This partnership with Veregy allows us to proactively address crucial infrastructure needs over the summer months, without interrupting the school year.  By upgrading our campuses now, we are preventing costly emergency repairs down the road, and ensuring our facilities run efficiently for years to come.”
