At their Tuesday, January 21, 2025, monthly meeting, members of Carroll County Democratic Central Committee decided by a unanimous vote to add a new project. Chairman Dr. Art Donart suggested that our elected and appointed officials need to hear directly from the people, about their problems with health insurance and obtaining necessary treatment.
Dr. Donart pointed out that he knows people who were denied treatment by their health insurance company without being given a reason, and then told they could appeal the decision but were not told how to appeal the decision.
The Committee expressed concern for the rising cost of premiums and co-pays as well.
A “Town Hall” allows citizens to express their frustration and concerns directly to:
• their elected representatives
• those who administer government programs that address health care problems
• health care providers.
The public will be informed of the date, place, and time, of this event. It will be open to the people of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Rock Island, Stephenson, and Whiteside Counties or the surrounding areas. Local elected officials may include Senator Andrew Chesney; State Representative Tony McCombie; Congressman Eric Sorensen.
