Delsa Irene Dyke, 95, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Resthave Home in Morrison, IL.
Irene was born December 30, 1922, in Mahomet, IL, to John and Nora (Hammel) Le Fever. She was the youngest of four children, attended Mahomet schools, and graduated from Mahomet High School in 1941. She worked for Montgomery Ward and took Department Head training. She married Dr. James Moret on December 19, 1943, in Le Roy, IL. They had three children, two daughters Karen and Sandra and one son Norman. Jim passed away on June 9, 1958. Irene then married Elmer Zuidema on December 30, 1959, in Morrison. They had one daughter, Dawn. Elmer passed away on April 13, 1991. She then married Donald Dyke on August 14, 1993, in Morrison. Don passed away on April 21, 2009. Irene was Vice-President and went on to become President of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Mississippi Valley Veterinary Medical Association. She was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts, a Girl Scout leader, and a dedicated Cubs fan. Irene was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she was a member of the Lydian Society, Adult Choir, Ladies Aid, and the Mary Bible Study. Irene loved to bake, cook, read, fish, travel, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and family.
Irene is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Harvey) Zuidema Arians and Carol Zuidema Stichter both of Morrison, IL; one son, Norm (Denise) Moret of Geneva, IL; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; three daughters, Karen Moret Hook, Sandy Moret Behrens, and Diane Zuidema Jones; one son, David Zuidema; three grandchildren, Angie Hook Schubert, Katie Zuidema, and Michael Zuidema; one sister; two brothers.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
Memorials have been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church and Resthave Home.
