12-04-16 at 3:00 p.m. Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Prophetstown/Lyndon Fire Protection District and EMS responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on Moline Road east of Lyndon, IL. A vehicle driven by Shawn M. Smith, age 44 of Prophetstown, IL, was traveling westbound on Moline Road when he lost control of his vehicle. It then began to slide and slid into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Brian C. Baldwin, age 43 of Warrenville, IL. Baldwin had to be extricated from his vehicle. Both drivers and the passenger in the Smith vehicle, Joshua D. Mosher, age 32 of Tampico, IL, were transported to CGH for treatment. Smith was cited for Too Fast for Conditions with a mandatory court date. Prophetstown/Lyndon Fire and EMS, Hunter’s Towing, and Rick’s Towing all assisted on scene.
12-04-16 at 11:10 a.m. Bansen J. Rosenow, age 18 of Port Byron, IL, was traveling southbound on Sand Road when he lost control on the 100% snow-covered roadway near Fargo Road. His truck slid uncontrollably into the east ditch where it rolled over and came to rest on its side. Erie Fire/EMS responded to the scene where Bransen refused treatment. He was later cited for Too Fast for Conditions. Ince’s Towing assisted on scene.
12-04-16 at 8:05 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies along with Albany Fire and EMS responded to a single-vehicle roll over crash on Albany Road near Fuller Road. The driver, Ellis H. Rock, age 81 of Albany, IL, was traveling southeast when he lost control of his vehicle on the 100% snow-covered roadway. He and his passenger, Geraldine M. Rock, age 77, refused medical treatment on scene. Albany Fire and EMS along with Midwest Towing assisted on scene. Rock was issued a written warning for Too Fast for Conditions.
11-29-16 at 4:55 p.m. Ariana M. Prado, age 19 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appea –Consumption of Liquor by a Minor. She posted the required bond and was released.
11-29-16 at 10:00 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies responded with Erie EMS and Erie Police to a rural Erie, IL, residence for an unconscious adult. Clinton J. Reisenbigler, age 35 of Erie, was transported to CGH for treatment and ultimately arrested for DUI–Inhalants. He was processed at CGH and released pending future results from the State Crime Lab. Erie EMS, Erie Police, and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
11-25-16 at 11:00 a.m. James R. Skrogstad, age 34 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested on a Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear–Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer. He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of bond.
11-25-16 at 7:35 a.m. Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a vehicle crash and a vehcile left unoccupied in the ditch on Freeport Road near Capp Road, rural Sterling, IL. Charles Larry IV, age 18 of Sterling, was later arrested for Improper Driving on Shoulder of Roadway and Failure to Report Crash to Law Enforcement. He was released on bond. Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
11-23-16 at 8:55 p.m. Michael J. Ruffolo, age 21 of Clinton, IA, was arrested on Interstate 88 at milemarker 36 for Unlawful Possession of Registration Sticker Known to be Stolen and remanded to the Whiteside County Jail.
11-23-16 at 7:12 p.m. Karen A. M. Meier, age 22 of Sterling, IL, was arrested on 4th Street at 19th Avenue, Sterling, for No Valid Registration (expired 11/2015), No Valid Driver’s License (expired), and Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. She was bonded on scene and was released. Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
11-23-16 at 2:00 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on U. S. Route 30 at Moline Road, rural Sterling, IL. A semi tractor-trailer driven by Troy A. Angelo, age 45 of Winchester, OH, failed to stop at the stop intersection. A vehicle driven by Gregory Reyes, Jr., age 62 of Bettendorf, IA, failed to see the other vehicle and struck the side of the semi tractor-trailer, causing damage to both vheicles. Angelo was cited for Disobeying a Stop Sign and released. Illinois State Police assisted on scene.
