Laughlin, age 45 of Albany, IL, was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle following the investigation of a traffic crash on IL Route 84 near Ebson Road, rural Fulton, IL. Laughlin was traveling northbound on IL Route 84 when he lost control of his vehicle and ended up in the ditch, causing minor damage to his vehicle and State of Illinois property. 12-20-13 at 8:00 a.m. Tara Sears, age 21 of Bettendorf, IA, was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, when she lost control of her vehicle traveling on Interstate 88 at milepost 38.
12-20-13 around 8:00 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a Sterling, IL, Fire Department engine and a passenger car. The crash occurred on Lynn Boulevard, approximately 0.25 miles west of Avenue E in Sterling. While responding to an emergency call, the fire engine, driven by Garrett E. Ramos, age 30 of Sterling, was westbound on Lynn Boulevard, when it lost control on the ice-covered roadway. It struck an eastbound passenger car driven by Nancy Surdez, age 65 of Lyndon, IL. Ramos and his passsenger, Cory Bianchi, age 40 of Sterling, refused treatment at the scene, while Surdez was transported to CGH Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Sterling Police Department, Sterling/Rock Falls Fire Departments, and CGH EMS.
12-20-13 at 6:10 a.m. Joshua A. Denomy, age 27 of Savanna, IL, was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions when his vehicle entered the ditch at IL Route 136 and Chase Road, rural Fulton, IL. Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
12-20-13 at 5:45 a.m. Jonathan W. Thompson, Jr., age 41 of Moline, IL, was arrested for Driving Too Fast for Conditions following the investigation of a single-vehicle roll-over crash on IL Route 84 near Diamond Road, rural Fulton, IL. Thompson was traveling northbound on IL Route 84 when he lost control of his vehicle and ended up in the ditch, where the vehicle rolled over. There was no occupant injury. Fulton Police and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
12-17-13 at 1:22 p.m. Courtney P. Lewis, age 25 of Clinton, IA, was stopped and arrested for Driving While License Suspended on Chase Road south of U. S. Route 30, rural Fulton, IL. He was bonded on scene and released pending a future court appearance. Midwest Towing assisted on scene.
12-16-13 at 12:00 p.m. Semadin Akiti, age 70 of Clinton, IA, was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions when Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on IL Route 136 near Chase Road. Akiti was driving westbound on IL Route 136 around midnight when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway and crashed into the north ditch, causing damage to his vehicle with no occupant injury. Around 5:30 a.m., the crash was reported by a passer-by and Deputies initiated the investigation of the crash at that point. Midwest Towing and Fulton Police assisted on scene.
