The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that criminals often target unlocked cars, open garage doors, and unlocked homes or businesses because of the ease of entry. Most thefts from cars and neighborhood burglaries happen to victims who have not taken the time to properly secure their property or keep their valuables out of sight. An ounce of prevention can keep crime from happening to you.
