These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On 11-26-19 at 10:05 p.m., Francis I. Austin, age 29 of Omaha, NE, was stopped on Interstate 88 at mile marker 21 for speeding 105/70 MPH. He was arrested, transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and processed for Speeding 35 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit. Austin posted a cash bond and was released, pending a future court date in Morrison, IL.
On 11-27-19 at 7:48 p.m., Derek C. Stockdale, age 54 of Sterling, IL, was stopped on the Avenue G Bridge for Obstructed Registration and Speeding. He was cited for Speeding 43/30 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, with a warning for the registration violation, as well as no Driver’s License On Person. He was issued a Promise to Comply.
On 11-27-19 at 8:29 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Sterling for speeding. Upon further investigation, Anthony Garza, age 41 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Speeding 49/30 MPH, Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in Motor Vehicle, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Garza was transported to the Sterling Police Department, where he was processed and released with a Notice to Appear at a future court appearance. Whiteside County Deputies were assisted by the Sterling Police Department, Slim-N-Hank’s Towing, Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office, and CGHMedical Center.
On 11-27-19 at 11:41 p.m., Eric Atilano, age 36 of Sterling, IL, was stopped in Sterling for No Rear Registration Light. Atilano was arrested for DUI and Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in Motor Vehicle, processed at the Sterling Police Department, and released on a Notice to Appear. On 11-28-19 at 1:02 a.m., Addison B. Folkers, age 27 of Sterling, IL, was stopped in Sterling for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device. Folkers was arrested for two counts of DUI and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, processed at the Sterling Police Department, and released on a Notice to Appear. On 11-29-19 at 7:30 p.m., Michael J. Gibart, age 49 of Clinton, IA, was stopped for Improper Lane Usage on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, IL. He was arrested for Driving While License Revoked and Improper Lane Usage then remanded to the Whiteside County Jail. Hunter’s Towing assisted on scene.
On 11-30-19 at 3:41 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash involving injury on U. S. Route 30 near Galt Road. Upon further investigation, Sarah E. Fisher, age 26 of Sterling, IL, was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage, with a pending court appearance. As a result of the crash, four occupants were transported to CGHMedical Center. Whiteside County Deputies were assisted on scene by Sterling Fire Department, Rock Falls Fire Department, CGH EMS, Slim-N-Hank’s Towing, and Johnson’s Towing.
On 11-30-19 at 8:57 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Sterling, IL. Upon further investigation, a juvenile age 17, was issued a citation for Disobeying a Stop Sign as well as Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. The juvenile was released from the scene, pending a future court appearance.
On 11/30/19 at 9:19 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Moline Road near Walnut Road for speed. Upon further investigation, Matthew D. Jones, age 22 of Lyndon, IL, was arrested for 96 in a 55 MPH zone. Matthew was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and released with a future court date. On 12-01-19 at 1:18 a.m., Koltyn S. D. Jones, age 20 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped for No Rear Registration Light on Avenue G Bridge. He was cited for the offense, Zero Tolerance Implied Consent, and arrested on a Whiteside County Warrant for Possession of Cannabis, as well as a Bureau County Warrant for Obstructing a Peace Officer. Jones was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail. Sterling Police assisted on scene.
On 12-1-19 at 1:48 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to rural Tampico, IL, for a suspicious vehicle. Upon further investigation, Tiffany J. Thomas, age 36 of Deer Grove, IL, left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Thomas was subsequently arrested for Improper Lane Usage, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Driving While License Revoked, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, two counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and two counts of Aggravated Felony Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Thomas was transported and remanded to the Whiteside County Jail, pending a court appearance. Whiteside County Deputies were assisted on scene by Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.
On 12-01-19 at 8:50 p.m., Amber J. Wirth, age 34 of Grand Mound, IA, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 near White Oaks Road, for Unlawful Approach to a Stationary Emergency Vehicle (Scott’s Law.) Wirth was cited for the Scott’s Law Violation and No Valid Driver’s License. She was released with a Notice to Appear.
