December 11 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, December 11, 2020.

Arrests:  On Friday, December 11, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop, on a vehicle driven by Dustin J. D. Funderberg, age 38 of Morrison, IL, for a moving violation.  The stop occurred on E. Lincolnway at Sawyer Road, Morrison.  As a result of the stop, Funderberg was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Funderberg with Obstructing a Court Order.  Funderberg was released on a Notice to Appear.

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop, on a vehicle driven by Joel Canas, age 28 of Sterling, IL, for moving and equipment violation.  As a result of the stop, a passenger, Mark A. Chavez, age 36 of Sterling, was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Lee County, charging Chavez with Failure to Appear-Criminal Damage to Property.  Chavez was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed, posted bond, and was released on a Notice to Appear.  The driver, Joel Canas was issued a Citation for No Valid Driver’s License.  Another passenger and owner of the vehicle, Jason J. Witmer, age 39 of Sterling, was issued Citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Illegal Use of Special Plates by a Dealer.

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Morrison Police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex, at 631 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested and charged Nelson T. Grismore, age 35 of Morrison, with Domestic Battery.  Grismore was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  Morrison Police were assisted by the Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop, on a vehicle driven by Joseph D. Richards, age 40 of Morrison, IL, for a moving violation.  The stop occurred in the 100 block of S. Cherry Street, Morrison.  As a result of the stop, Richards was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Richards with Battery.  Morrison Police also arrested and charged Richards with Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol.)  Richards was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed, and released on a Notice to Appear.
