Deborah L. (Robertson) Beck, 62, of Morrison, IL, died peacefully with her daughter holding her hand, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Deb was born July 19, 1956, in Morrison, IL, to Donald L. and Inez J. (Durward) Robertson. She attended Hiddlesen School in rural Whiteside County and Morrison Jr. High School and was a 1974 graduate of Morrison High School. Deb graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL, with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She married Paul R. Beck on August 8, 1982, in a garden wedding in Morrison. Deb was an elementary school teacher for over 34 years in Iowa and was currently substituting in the Morrison area. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Morrison and was a part of Crossroads Sisters. Deb loved gardening and spending time outside doing various activities. She enjoyed swimming, doing yoga, and her cats. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Fiona. Her love for her family was unwavering. Every day she demonstrated to all those close to her kindness, strength, and love. She was a kindhearted, sensitive, strong, independent soul.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; one daughter, Alyssa (Chris) Caraballo; one granddaughter, Fiona Caraballo; four brothers, Robert (Susanne) Burch, David (Jeanne) Robertson, Michael (Christopher) Robertson, Jeffrey Robertson; mother, Doris Robertson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Inez, and one brother, William Burch.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Crossroads Community Church in Morrison, IL, with a memorial visitation from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the service. Pastor John Eastlick will be officiating.
A private family graveside service will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
Memorials to Morrison Education Association and the American Lung Association have been established.
