Dean “Ted” Pyse (1936 – 2021)

dean pyseDean “Ted” Pyse, 85 of East Moline, IL, formerly of Sterling/Rock Falls, IL, died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his home.

Dean was born on January 3, 1936, in Sterling, the son of Dean Arnold and Mildred (Wagenknecht) Pyse.  He was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.  Dean worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 27 years as a Millwright.  He loved Harley Davidson and riding his motorcycle.  He enjoyed dancing, traveling, fishing, and living on the Mississippi River.  Dean practiced and taught Martial Arts.

Survivors include, his domestic partner, Dorothy “Dottie” Simmons; daughter, Tedi Jo Ridle of Rock Falls; siblings, Joan Pyse of Bradford, IL, Jeanie (Carl) Mattingly of Loretto, KY, David (Laura) Pyse of Kings Mountain, NC, Debbie (Randy) Aronson of Harmon, IL and Wendy (Craig) Stralow of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren, Matthew McPheeters, Jeryd Ridle, and Justin Ridle; great-grandchildren, Dawson McPheeters, Maddux McPheeters, Jaxxyn Ridle, and Laynee Ridle; two step-daughters, Lisa (Jim) Hogenson and Teri Scott; five step-grandchildren, Michelle Elmendorf, Milo Bryant, Catrina Hopkins, Christopher Scott, and Coty Scott; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents; son, Ricky Pyse in 1986; siblings, Joyce (Allen) Ernst, Charlotte Joanne Anderson, Judith Ann (Tom) Estes, Peggy Jo (Larry) Karash, Cheryl Sue Chappell, and Dennis Ray (Donna) Pyse.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, in Rock Falls, IL.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
