David T. “Ted” Hook, 72, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Volo, IL, died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at his home in Ft. Myers.
Ted was born August 16, 1942, in Morrison, IL, to William and Dorothy (Renkes) Hook. He graduated from Prophetstown High School in Prophetstown, IL, in 1960 and graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI, in 1964. He married Karen D. Moret on November 27, 1964, in Morrison. She died August 26, 2011. In 2005 Ted retired from Paslode (ITW) of Libertyville, IL. During the summer he vacationed at Fish Lake Beach Resort in Volo, and during the winter months he stayed at the Shady Acres RV Resort in Ft. Myers. He enjoyed reading, billiards, and traveling with his wife. He was a Good Sam Traveling Club member.
Survivors include one daughter, Christine (fiancé Kurt Schumacher) Hook of Round Lake Beach, IL; his mother-in-law, Irene Dyke of Morrison; one son-in-law, Daniel Schubert of Lake Zurich, IL; two granddaughters, Allison and Jamie Schubert; one sister, Elizabeth (Hank) Elgersma of Lansing, IL; one sister-in-law, Esther Hook of Wenona, IL; two brothers, Phil (Joyce) Hook of Fulton, IL, and Steve (Norma) Hook of Holland, MI; many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen; one daughter, Angela Schubert; one brother, Dan Hook.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Mr. Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, orrison, IL
VISITATION: 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014, until the time of the service at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
