Patricia Taylor, Regent of Rock River Chapter, shared these recent recognitions. The Rock River Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter (DAR) recognized six area high school Seniors as Good Citizens, on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Ryberg Auditorium at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Seniors from area high schools, who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities, are honored each year by the Rock River Chapter with a Good Citizen Award.
High School honorees were Ella Aldridge, Fulton; Haley Bichelhaupt, Unity Christian; Zaina Rumbolz, Sterling; Kelly Schipper, Erie; Jacob Schlegel, Morrison; David Swegle, Newman Central.
The chapter also awarded a scholarship to Sterling High School Senior, Sierra Villarreal. The Scholarship Award is based on merit, including completion of a questionnaire, scholastic record, and a letter of recommendation.
We wish to thank area high schools for their support in making our Good Citizen and Scholarship program a success.
