National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has three guiding principles, which define their multi-faceted programs, activities, and sponsorships: Patriotism, Education, and Historic Preservation.
The DAR Good Citizens program and Scholarship Contest encourages and rewards the qualities of good citizenship. Open to all High School Seniors enrolled in public or private schools, a winning DAR Good Citizen must demonstrate four qualities: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Each school’s first place scholarship winner will advance to the State Scholarship competition. Two National winners will be announced at the DAR Continental Congress in June, 2024.
Congratulations to 17 Good Citizens from District II, Carroll Jo Daviess Chapter in Northwest Illinois.
