Daisy Girl Scouts Serve their Community

ballHatsMorrison, IL, Daisy Girl Scouts met at 6:00 p.m. outside Northside School, 520 N. Genesee Street, on Monday, May 11, 2015, to complete two service projects.  First, they signed the lid of a plastic storage tub that would contain their gift.  It was labeled “Kickballs from Morrison Girl Scout Daisy Troop #5315.”

The girls chose to use some of their cookie sales money to purchase 24 jump ropes and 10 rubber playground balls for recess.  The balls were delivered uninflated, but that did not stop the girls from “enjoying” them.  Seven are shown wearing colorful “ball hats” before they were turned over to Principal Jennifer Oetting.  Left-to-right are Laila, Hailey, Annabelle, Stevie, Anna, Aaliyah, and Yvette.

Daisies not in this photo are  ?  ? were unable to attend the event.

Adults who weeded were Principal Oetting; Troop Leaders  Hillary Blevins,Giana Bonneur, Gabriela Cason, Tracy Banks-Geiger; Stephanie Vavra.  Delighted at their industrious–but dirty–hands, the Daisies displayed evidence of their effort.  Geiger marched them in single file to wash up.
