Morrison Chamber of Commerce visited Bogott Plumbing, Inc. (BPI), 15273 Bishop Road, Morrison, IL, on Thursday, September 1, 2016, to deliver a Customer Service recognition to employee Jon Brands. Chamber Executive Director Kim Ewoldsen and Board member Stephanie Vavra, thecity1.com, acknowledged Brands with the “Because Nice Matters” award. A customer nominated him, after experiencing a furnace failure during the night. Brands “went above and beyond” to service the unit on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Owner Michael Knott purchased Bogott Plumbing, Inc. and offers four divisions under that umbrella enterprise:
- Bogott Plumbing, Inc.
- BPI Pool Supply
- BPI Sewer and Drain
- BPI Brands Heating and Cooling.
He acquired Brands Heating and Cooling exactly 11 months ago, on October 1, 2015. He kept former owner Brands as employee of the heating and cooling operation, as well as his wife, Barb, and son, Eric.
“The goal was to keep it as much as possible the same as Brands has been since about 1924–for 92 years.” One pleasant change was “to have a full-time office for our customers” to access us, Brands said. “The business has grown.”
Knott concurred. “That was my goal,” he added. The expanded business “has grown into light commercial efforts. We have a few more people to help with that. The office staff is able to help each other.”
The collaboration has been a success. Brands concluded, “I’ve helped bring in some plumbing business, and the plumbing business has brought in some heating business.”
