Council Agrees to Let Bids for Main Street and Utilities Plan

Over 60 local citizens, plus Administrative staff and Council Members, attended a Public Informational Meeting on Monday, December 16, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  The City of Morrison Community Room, at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, displayed architectural drawings of a “2020 Main Street and Utilities Construction” project.

Representatives from the City and Willett, Hofmann, & Associates, Inc., of Sterling, IL, were available to address questions about the possible future look of downtown Morrison.  Left-to-right are Matt Hansen, WH Water/Wastewater Department Head; Alderman Harvey Zuidema; WH Office Manager Brian Frickenstein; Alderman Vernon Tervelt.

A Council meeting followed.  Aldermen approved having Willett, Hofmann, & Associates, Inc. proceed with the engineering, to prepare a bid package. 

Mayor Everett Pannier stated they want “the package to go out for bids as soon as possible.”  Manager Frickenstein noted that would happen in January 2020.
