Corliss J. Kerr, 95, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at her home.
Corliss was born January 8, 1922, in Morrison, to Harvey C. and Sylvia E. (Baker) Cobb. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL. Corliss married James Russell Kerr on January 15, 1949, in Morrison. He died March 27, 2005. Corliss was employed as an elementary school teacher in Morrison area schools. Corliss was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, a lifetime member of the Whiteside County Retired Teacher’s Association, and a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. She was also a member of Natural Area Guardians and served as a 4-H and rural Youth Leader.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Kerr, and her husband, Bob Baker of Janesville, WI; one son, Duane (Pam) Kerr of Green River, WY; two grandchildren, Aaron (Heather) Kerr and Matthew (Tally) Kerr; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Kerr; one brother, Clayton Cobb of Fremont, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Russell Kerr.
