Media Director Karla Burn submitted this feature and the pictures.

Copper, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Therapy dog, visited Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison, IL, on Thursday March 31, 2022. He is a Golden Doodle, whose sire and dam were a Golden Retriever and Poodle.

He brought his handler, Lt. Kim Cavazos, and Sheriff John Booker.

“The residents thoroughly enjoyed their visit with Copper!  They were surprised at how well-behaved he was, because he is still just a puppy at 10 months old,” reported Burn.

“Lt. Cavazos said this was the first Nursing/Assisted Living home Copper has been to visit.”

Pictured left-to-right are residents Dolores “Dolly” Karol, Gloria Grams, and Jane Tornquist showing Copper some love.
