Constance “Connie” L. Schubert, 61, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison.
Connie was born July 16, 1952, in Savanna, IL, to Russell and Mae (Friske) Nelson. She was a 1970 graduate of Chadwick High School in Chadwick, IL. Connie married Duane Schubert on November 7, 1970, in Morrison. She was employed by International Paper in Clinton, IA, for many years and was currently working at Skyline Center in Clinton. Connie was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison. She enjoyed crafting, making baskets, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Duane; one daughter, Kelly (Marc) Sigel of Clinton; one son, Scott (Katie) Schubert of Bellevue, NE; two grandchildren, Troy Husemann and Luke Sigel; two step-grandchildren, Anthany Sigel and Kristen Sigel; her mother, Mae Nelson of Clinton; two sisters, Bonnie (Neal) Hudson of Morrison and Linda Dersham of Clinton; two brothers, Robert (Jane) Nelson of Morrison, and Edward Nelson of Clinton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; her best friend, Paula Jansma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russell; a brother-in-law, Arthur “Gene” Dersham; one niece, Kimberly Nelson-Verdick.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL
OFFICIATING: Rev. Mike Winkelman, Associate Pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
