Whiteside County is in the final phases of drafting a Comprehensive Plan, a plan to guide development and positive change over the next 20 years. The completed draft plan is available for review, and a summary will be presented for discussion at each of two public meetings.
Both locations are handicap accessible; doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Meetings will include a brief overview of the planning process and purpose, followed by a summary of policies and recommended actions in the plan. The plan addresses land use and development, transportation, economic development, housing, agriculture, and natural hazards.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the Ryberg Auditorium, located in CGH Medical Center Hospital, 100 E. LeFevre, Sterling, IL.
The second meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8, in the Odell Public Library Community Room, 307 S. Madison Street, Morriso, IL.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend one of the meetings. Please help us create a plan that truly represents the interests of the County!
The completed draft plan is available online at WhitesidePlan.com.
