Coach Tammy Deter Inducted into Hall of Fame

The annual Meet the Players Spring Edition was also the occasion for the Morrison Athletic Boosters to congratulate Coach Tammy Deter for her induction into the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame and show appreciation for her dedication and years of coaching excellence.  The warm wishes were offered Friday, March 10, 2017, at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL.

After presenting Deter with a plaque, a photo session was held to record Coach Deter with all attending past and present Fillies.

Some accomplishments by the Morrison Fillies Softball teams under the 23 years of leadership of Coach Deter are listed below.

  • 495 Wins (76%); 152 Losses (23%); 3 Ties
  • 12 Regional titles
  • Five Sectional titles
  • Four Super-Sectional titles
  • Four IHSA State appearances:  2007-4th place; 2008-3rd place; 2010-3rd place; 2011-State Championship
  • Morrison has won TRAC Conference titles for 15 of the 17 years the Conference has been in place
  • 2005:  11 shutouts in 12 Conference games
  • 2000-2016:  12 Fillies named “Conference Player of the Year”:  Stacy Cook (1), Margo Pruis (3), Monica Wright (2), Michaele Vock (1), Abby Vock (1), Ashlie Patten (1), Christie Wiersema (2), and Brooke Stralow (1)
  • Conference consecutive game Winning Streaks:  37 wins from 2000-2004 and 33 wins from 2006-2009
  • 2000-2004:  37 consecutive Conference wins
  • 2006-2009:  33 consecutive Conference wins.
