City Continues to Offer Residents Electrical Options

Posted by

LightbulbIn March 2012, the City of Morrison voters approved a referendum allowing the City to enter into an electricity purchasing agreement, to maximize electricity savings for its residents and small businesses.

The current Contract with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (“mc2”) will be expiring in September 2018.  After obtaining competitive pricing, the City is pleased to announce that MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (“mc2”) will continue to provide eligible residents and small business customers with electricity supply services, for a 36-month term beginning September 2018.  Eligible members of this program will receive the mc2 electricity supply price of 6.99 cents/kWh through your September 2021 meter cycle.  ComEd’s price to compare is 7.697 cents/kWh through May 30, 2019.

Opt-out notices will be mailed to City residents on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.  Residents have 21 days from the postmark date on the notice to Opt Out.  Residents may either Opt Out by returning an enclosed Opt Out card or by calling 1-855-575-9231, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  In addition, residents can cancel their agreement at any time with no termination fees.

City residents who are currently with an Electric Supplier of their own choosing will also have the opportunity to join the group, if they choose to do so.  They will receive Opt In letters with instructions on how to join.

Residents will continue to receive a single bill from ComEd and continue to be eligible for all ComEd payment options, including e-bill, automatic bill payment, and budget billing.  ComEd continues to be responsible for the wires, poles, and all emergencies, including outage restoration.

Warning to Residents:  MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (“mc2”) or ComEd does not solicit customers by phone or door-to-door.  Anyone who contacts residents by phone or comes to their home or business,  is not a representative of the City Electrical Aggregation program.

If residents would like to discuss their options, they can call MC2 at 1-855-575-9231 or Rock River Energy Services at 1-815-732-4603.
