Christmas Walk Committee Treats Key Club

February 27, 2015, with it’s snow cover and single-digit temperatures, was reminiscent of the Chamber Christmas Walk of Saturday, December 6, 2014.  Two members of the Christmas Walk Committee, Nancy Anderson and Stephanie Vavra, and Chamber Executive Director Kim Ewoldsen met at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL to thank student participants in the Christmas Walk.  The women did that with multicolored ice cream cupcakes–embellished with special caramel centers–from DQ Grill & Chill, 200 N. Sawyer Road, Morrison.

The Christmas Parade event brought outstanding, multi-faceted support from a group of Morrison High Schoolers in the Key Club.  Anderson said 19, of the 79 members, offered invaluable help.  They erected wooden barricades and cones to prohibit traffic from the parade route.  They lined up the entries.  They assisted with luminaries prior to the Christmas tree lighting.  Two young women dressed as elves to work at the Santa House.

In the cafeteria, several of those who worked during the Christmas Parade gathered during homeroom to enjoy their treat.
