With the winter holidays just around the corner, searching for a meaningful gift can be difficult. What could make a perfect present for your loved ones? Odell Public Library has a great suggestion for you. Consider adopting a book at the library.
Adoption is easy. Choose a book from the list of new books to be ordered. Then, give a monetary donation covering the cost of the book, approximately $15. There are many new books for all ages awaiting adoption: books for children and teens, large-print and audio books, and adult fiction and non-fiction.
The book you adopt doesn’t come home with you; nor is it wrapped gaily and placed under the tree. Instead, the book is given to Odell Public Library. Because of your donation, the name of your family member or friend will appear on the nameplate inside the book along with your name. You will also be the book’s first reader.
What better way to honor and celebrate those we love, with a memorable and long-lasting gift that gives beyond the holidays.
The “adoption process” will help stock the library’s shelves. Help your community library by “adopting a book” for its future readers.
