Charles N. “Chuck” Schoaf, 70, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, May 9, 2016, in Hillsdale, IL.
Chuck was born November 5, 1945, in Sterling, IL, to E. LaVerne and Janet (Hawkins) Schoaf. He was educated in the Morrison grade schools, graduated from Morrison High School, and then attended Western Illinois University at Macomb, IL. Chuck served in the United States Navy, on the USS America, during the Vietnam War. On December 15, 1973, he married Kathryn A. Smith in Rock Island, IL. He was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation and also drove trucks for Elwyn Nice Trucking. Chuck was a member of the Morrison VFW and was very active in veteran activities. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and, most of all, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Kristina Cobo and Caroline (fiance, Andrew Tenboer) Schoaf, both of Morrison; two grandchildren, Trevor Cobo and Lily Willett; one sister, Carol (Dale) Armstrong of Winnebago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Schoaf; one niece, Jennifer Banks.

Memorials have been established to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities and a Scholarship Fund for the Grandchildren of Charles Schoaf.
