Morrison Chamber of Commerce conducted a noon Ribbon Cutting ceremony to feature Melissa Gabbard, Independent Distributor of Young Living Essential Oils, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Sharing the celebration outside the Chamber office at 221 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, were Meridith Layne, Chamber Coordinator; Gabbard, holding ceremonial scissors and son Jerome; Mayor Everett Pannier; Stephanie Vavra, Chamber member; Alderman Mick Welding. Gabbard’s daughter Jacelyn attended–on her five-month birthday–but contentedly remained inside, in her baby carrier.
Gabbard said of her children, “They like oils, too.” Some products are specific for children, or customers can dilute the adult concentrations. Marketing material suggests “placing your essential oil of choice and water in a diffuser. Turn it on, and enjoy the benefits without the worry of scalding water harming you or your child. My son finally sleeps through the night when his diffuser is running,” stated a satisfied customer.
Besides this aromatic use of oils, they can be enjoyed topically or as a dietary supplement.
“There are no fillers or additives” in the products she sells. “They help get rid of toxic chemicals and [, therefore,] help your heath,” Gabbard stated.
