In 2013, Morrison Chamber of Commerce sold small, artificial Christmas trees for businesses and organizations to decorate. This successful and entertaining fundraiser helped purchase downtown streetlight banners. Prior to the Christmas Walk weekend, the public participated via silent auction bids in the lobby of Wells Fargo Bank, 100 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. Their enthusiastic response has led to a repeat event.
The one-day, 2014 Christmas Walk and Parade on Saturday, December 6, are themed “The 12 Days of Christmas.” However, tree trimmers may select any appealing theme or decorative motif.
A new grove of bare trees has arrived and awaits decor. Obtain one or more at the Chamber office, 221 W. Main Street, Morrison, from Tuesday, November 4, through Friday, November 7. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A suggested donation of $10 per tree will cover the Chamber’s purchase costs.
- Decorated trees must be delivered to Wells Fargo Bank or the Chamber office by Friday, November 21.
- Silent auction bidding by the community runs from Monday, November 24, through Saturday night, December 6, at the bank.
Consider bidding on a tree for your business, family, or someone who has recently downsized their living situation.
Free-to-the-Community Chamber of Commerce events will benefit from this year’s tree silent auction.
