Editor’s note: The time has been changed.
CGH Medical Center and the CGH Auxiliary are pleased to present the opening of the next healing art gallery, “Spirit of the Heart.” The gallery will showcase local artists. It will be open to our patients and the community.
The show will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. in the Main Clinic Atrium. Cheese and wine will be served. The show will feature artwork from local juried artists, Linnea Koch and Bruce Bley. Selected pieces will be available for viewing and for sale. A portion of the proceeds benefit the CGH Auxiliary. The artwork will be displayed on the first floor, in the north hallway that runs between the hospital and Main Clinic.
About the Artists
Linnea Koch has had an interest and worked in many different media, from painting and sculpture, to etching and weaving. Her interest in photography has kept her looking for unusual subject matter and creating a new way of seeing common place subjects.
From the beaches at Carthage College on Lake Michigan to travels around the Country, Germany, and Switzerland, as well as explorations around the Sauk Valley, Koch searches for intriguing things to photograph.
Bruce Bley taught at Sterling High School as an art instructor for 35 years. He enjoyed teaching students and helping them develop their own style of work. Now during retirement, he pursues his own passion for creating artwork. As an artist, Bley wants to capture the beauty of what nature has to offer.
He is an avid photographer. Many of his drawings come from the inspirations in his photos.
