CGH Medical Center is helping future healthcare workers train within their field. Allied Health students have an opportunity to earn their Phlebotomy certificate, during their second semester at Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC.) CGH partners with WACC by allowing students to work alongside the hospital staff, to complete a portion of the clinical requirements.

In addition to the ongoing program of students doing their rotations at CGH, the Laboratory Department recently donated two Phlebotomy carts to the Whiteside Area Career Center. This donation saved the school around $3000.

“We are very grateful to CGH for this donation,” said Ken Burns, Student Services Coordinator at Whiteside Area Career Center. “Sharing your time, attention, expertise, and resources with our students is very much appreciated!”

CGH Medical Center has been a consistent and long-time supporter of non-profit organizations and schools in their service area, which spans over five Counties. In addition to Phlebotomy, the CGH Laboratory Department offers several positions, including Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Histotechnician, and more.
