We continue to work through the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We remind the public that we are screening and testing patients who exhibit suspected symptoms of COVID-19. [This occurs] in the ground floor “former clinic” area seven days a week, [from] 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This area is isolated for only individuals exhibiting COVID symptoms. The entrance is located on the south side of the hospital (E. Knox Street) with directional signage provided. People with symptoms first are asked to call 815-772-5505 to be registered; a provider then will call to initiate the screening process.
The provider will decide if the individual should be tested. In many cases, patients are screened at curbside. This is the best clinical practice to avoid any additional contact with other potentially-infected patients.
All other patients may be seen in the first floor, Family Care Clinic with new hours of operations: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you prefer not to come to the hospital you can take advantage of clinic services utilizing telehealth through your phone or computer. Telehealth visits can be arranged with a Primary Care Physician, Therapist, Specialty Physician, or other hospital provider. If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call the clinic at 815-772-5511. We want our patients to know that we are here for your healthcare needs.
Walk-In services are available on Saturdays and Sundays via telehealth, as well. Please call 815-772-5505. You will be screened over the phone; a healthcare provider will make recommendations. The process is quite simple. We want our patients to know, that we are committed to addressing their healthcare needs. We have developed options for keeping our communities healthy.
The Illinois Department of Public Health, in coordination with the Illinois Poison Control Center, has launched the Illinois Coronavirus Hotline and email address to answer questions Local Health Departments, Clinicians, and the general public may have regarding the 2019 novel coronavirus. I know it has been difficult not having our customary freedom and not seeing our children and grandchildren, but the extra precautions will be rewarded in the long run.
