For the final time, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, Church of St. Anne-Episcopal, 401 N. Cherry Street, Morrison, IL, will celebrate Mass at 9:00 a.m., under the guidance of Father James Brzezinski. Wife Nancy will play the organ for the last time, too.
At the end of August, they made the decision to move to Southeast New Mexico; to answer a pastoral call; to reside closer to their daughter Mary. She lives in Albuquerque.
It is a bittersweet departure. After seven-plus years as Rector of St. Anne Episcopal, Father James has been fully involved in the community. He stated, “I love my parish at St. Anne’s. It’s been wrenching for me.” On the other hand, the new “parish is bigger. That will be a challenge for me, but that’s good. The Lord had a role to play” in [our] decision.
After the service, join the reception in the Undercroft (downstairs.) Farewell cards and monetary donations are welcomed.
Movers will arrive on Monday, October 7, to gather the couple’s belongings and transport them 1279 miles away–to Carlsbad, NM. They will be missed by friends and the church family. However, those same people surely wish Father James and Nancy Brzezinski a joyous new adventure.
