This Mother’s Day Weekend, join the local schools in celebrating the Arts, by attending our fine arts weekend. The Annual “Spring into the Arts Exhibit”, sponsored in part by the Children’s Art Preservation Association (CAPA), will take place Saturday, May 7, 2016, from noon to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 8, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Artwork representing kindergarten through 12th grade students will be displayed at the Junior High, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL. All events at the Junior High will be free admission.
Morrison art teachers Alyssa Aldridge, Stasha Hayes, and Tony Wright will work with volunteers to create a museum-like setting. New additions this year include a digital presentation of artwork and musical performances by Southside Elementary students. Musical performances are scheduled
- every hour from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday
- at 12:15, 1:00, and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Morrison High School and music instructor Meagan Zahora will present “Shrek the Musical,” with performances Friday, May 6, through Sunday, May 8. Show times will be 7:00 p.m. on May 6 and 7 and a May 8 matinee at 2:00p.m.
Purchase tickets ahead of time at Fitzgerald Pharmacy, 124 E. Main Street, Morrison, for $7 or $5 (students with ID and Seniors.) At the door, tickets are $8 or $6. Availability is based on a first-come first-serve basis. To guarantee a seat choice, you must pre-purchase tickets.
