Carol Lee Given, 78, of Morrison, IL, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Carol was born May 31, 1941, in Gurnee, IL. She married Rex B. Given, Sr. on November 29, 1956, in Morrison. He died October 8, 2012. Carol worked at General Electric in Morrison and at the Morrison Community Hospital. She owned and operated Store Room Antiques in Morrison. Carol was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a Stephens Minister. Carol and her husband helped with Cub Scouts. Carol was always visiting with people and loved spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed quilting and cross stitching.
Survivors include daughters, Kathy Frederick and LeeAnn (Mark) Steele both of Morrison; son, Rex (Bonnie) Given, Jr. of Morrison; nine grandchildren, Erin (Micah) Gapinski, Emily Frederick, Megan (Adam) Huizenga, Abby (Tim) Mussmann, Jamie Given, Shanna Given, Andrea Given, Michael Given, and Jenelle Given; eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex, Sr.; son, Tony Given; granddaughter, Elizabeth Frederick.
A private family service and private family visitation will be held at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with grandson-in-law Micah Gapinski officiating.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
