Carol Jane (Hockman) Kallenbach died in her home on March 28, 2021, in Mission, TX.
Carol was born in Freeport, IL, on December 11, 1936. She was the youngest of seven children born to Roy and Emma Hockman. Carol graduated from Morrison High School in 1954. She married Roger Kallenbach on July 3, 1955. Together they raised three children, Steven Kallenbach of FL, David (Lynne) Kallenbach of GA, and Darcy (Jim) Phillips of TN. Carol worked at the Whiteside County Farm Bureau and Morrison Community Hospital. Together with Roger, she drove semi trucks for many years, before retiring and moving to Texas.
In addition to her children, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Heather Mangelsen, Ben (Lauren) Kallenbach, Jonathan (Shelley) Kallenbach, Andrew (Emily) Phillips, Chelsea (Brian) Burgess, Alyssa (Jon) Hill, and Katelyn (Devin) Roth. Carol enjoyed being a great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren, Emily Halfacre, Ethan Mangelsen, Jackson, Harvey, and Mabel Kallenbach, Sonya Kallenbach, Annabel and Malcom Phillips, Ellie Hill, and Quinn Burgess. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger; parents; all of her siblings; one great-grandchild.
Carol donated her body to science.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, with interment at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
