The River Cities Aquatic Team hosted their Stars of Tomorrow Invitational on Friday, July 12, through Sunday, July 14, 2013. The meet was held at the Riverview Pool in Clinton, IA, which is a 50 meter, 8 lane, outdoor pool. Fifteen Seahorses competed in what turned out to be a great meet for the Morrison swimmers.
BayLeigh Brewer, left, won the second-place high point trophy for the 8 and Under Girls. Emily Henson made Regional cuts in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and Kate Henson made a Regional cut in the 50 backstroke.
The Seahorses were also awarded a trophy for winning the sportsmanship award at the meet. This is quite an honor, as there were 18 teams that competed. Coaches voted for the teams that displayed the best sportsmanship. Congratulations to the Seahorses on all of their accomplishments!
The Seahorses finish their 2013 summer season with their Conference Meet. The 11 and Older swimmers will travel to Bryon, IL, on Tuesday, July 30, and the 10 and Under swimmers will swim in Sterling, IL, on Wednesday, July 31.
