On February 1, 2018, City of Morrison Director of Public Works Gary Tresenriter announced, “Due to a broken water main, pressure fell below 20 psi in part of our water system; therefore we must issue the following boil order. Everyone living west of N. Genesee Street and north of W. Main Street is advised to boil their water until further notice. As soon as we receive notice of satisfactory results, the Boil Order will be lifted, and you will be notified. We apologize for this inconvenience.”
“This Boil Order is given as a precaution and pursuant to IEPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act; Boil Orders are required whenever the water system pressure drops below 20 psi. Therefore; you are advised to boil all water used for drinking and cooking for at least five minutes before consumption. Water samples will be taken today and sent to an IEPA certified lab for analysis.”
