Blood supplies dwindle during summer months, so donors are especially needed this time of year.
Consider a “team-of-three” donation. You and two friends hold the power to save up to nine lives during one hour of your time, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. Team members who contribute each will earn treats from DQ Grill & Chill, 200 N. Sawyer Road, Morrison, IL. Any sort of “team” is possible:
- quilters OR business co-workers
- P.E.O. members OR block neighbors
- bakers OR teachers
- MHS alumni OR dancers
- musicians OR golf buddies
- City OR County Government employees.
Team mates do not have to donate at the same time, but they need to identify themselves as “team” members when they sign in. For example, tell the registrar, “I’m a member of the mystery reading club,” or “I’m with Friends of the Parks,” or “I am a Morrison Fire Fighter.” Member names will be listed under the team heading to be sure at least three individuals attend. Beswick will arrange the sweet treats.
Hint to Regular Donor Heroes: If you know two or more people who regularly donate as you do, agree on a “team” name for yourselves. Done! Free ice cream!
The upcoming ARC Blood Drive is at Morrison United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison. The room will be filled with friendly greeters, Red Cross personnel, and Kiwanis sponsors to welcome and feed donors. As usual, Beswick is in charge of the great music.
Persons are eligible to donate if their last donation was on or before Thursday, May 22. Call Beswick at 815-772-3169 to arrange an appointment. Please bring your identification–an American Red Cross donor card or photo ID.
