On Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2019, join the Morrison Historical Society Board of Trustees, MHS members, your friends, and new acquaintances in air-conditioned comfort, at Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  The annual Ice Cream Social will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Other refreshments include barbecue pork sandwiches, chips, desserts, and beverages–all by donation only.

Daryl Drennen and Steve Swanson will discuss and demonstrate the blacksmithing trade.

  • Bring a lawn chair for outdoor seating, if the day is blessed with fine weather.
  • Sit inside or out and visit with friends.
  • Discover new MHS displays and acquisitions.

Kenny Venhuizen, Morrison, returns to treat visitors to his oh-so-rich vanilla and strawberry ice cream.  Half the fun is watching–or rather, hearing–the delicious creation being “churned” by his portable hit-‘n’-miss engine.  Venhuizen built it and has delighted area ice cream fans ever since.  He is shown below in 2018 with wife Nancy.
