Beverly J. Summers, 85, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her home.
Born June 7, 1927, in Morrison, she was a daughter of Roy and Almeda (Bodkin) Bielema.
On October 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to Eugene M. Summers, Sr. at Morrison United Methodist Church.
Beverly was a nurse’s aide and worked for both Pleasant View and Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison for several years. She also worked for Morrison Community Hospital as an OB aide.
She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, the Morrison Hospital Auxiliary, and the Morrison Historical Society. Beverly enjoyed volunteering for her granddaughter’s 1st grade classroom activities and her great-granddaughter’s kindergarten classes.
Surviving are her husband Eugene, of Morrison; a daughter, Cindy (Mike) Mayfield of Prophetstown, IL; two sons, Steve (Margie) Wilkins and Eugene Summers, Jr. both of Morrison; her six grandchildren, Ron Wilkins of Fulton, IL, Tracy (Andy) Henson of Morrison, Tawny (Mike) Wiersema of Morrison, Tara Wilkins of Sycamore, IL, Teresa (Jeff) Bielema of Prophetstown, and Megan Borden of Rock Falls, IL; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a brother, Ronnie, two sisters, Mary Lund and Donna Osborne, and twin granddaughters at birth.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, at Morrison United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan Schenck, Pastor, officiating.
Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
